Darwin was completely
destroyed by Cyclone Tracy on Christmas eve 1974 and has been completely
rebuilt. It's a nice city with amazing surrounding sightseeing. Kakadu
National Park is a World Heritage site and one of the greatest natural
locations in the world. Teeming with wildlife.
This is real crocodile
country with warnings on all rivers and swimming areas. People get eaten
here! There are many very cool boat trips down crocodile infested rivers
with aboriginal guides who describe and show how they live off the land
in this area.
Katherine Gorge is
spectacular and Yellow Water is a favorite with boat trips through the
amazing wildlife with many crocs, vast numbers of birds and animals.
It's beautiful and reassuring that huge areas of "National Geographic"
country are being preserved. Must see if you have time.
